Stellar Blade's latest update introduces several exciting additions to the PS5 exclusive title, including notable "visual improvements" to protagonist Eve's character model, courtesy of developer Shift Up.
Stellar Blade's Enhanced Physics
More Than Just Visual Tweaks
(c) Stellar Blade on Twitter (X) The update brings more than just cosmetic changes; it permanently integrates the previously limited-time Stellar Blade Summer Event Update, offering players the option to enable or disable this feature. Other improvements include enhanced quality of life features, updated map markers, and the addition of an "Ammo Package" item for instant ammo replenishment. However, the most discussed alteration centers on the updated physics engine and its effect on Eve's appearance.
As the Stellar Blade team themselves have highlighted, the updated physics have resulted in a more pronounced jiggle effect to Eve's physique. Comparisons between "before" and "after" animations clearly showcase the amplified movement.
Shift Up has consistently embraced a less conservative approach to Eve's design, even including a skin-tight costume option. This update, however, pushes the visual presentation further, impacting not just Eve but also the way equipment interacts with in-game wind effects, a detail praised by fans for its realistic, almost CGI-like quality.
Interestingly, while the changes are noticeable on Eve's chest area, other elements, such as her hair, haven't seen a comparable increase in movement.
A truly realistic physics simulation might also incorporate more movement in her hair to match the body's animation.
