FromSoftware has announced that the "leave a message" feature, a staple of their games, will be absent from Elden Ring: Nightreign. Project director Junya Ishizaki explained this decision in a recent interview, citing the game's shorter play sessions. With each Nightreign session lasting approximately forty minutes, Ishizaki stated there isn't sufficient time for players to leave or read messages effectively.
This decision marks a departure from FromSoftware's tradition of incorporating message-based interaction, a feature widely appreciated by players for enhancing enjoyment and interactivity. However, the team deemed the functionality unsuitable for Nightreign's design.
To maintain the integrity of the original Elden Ring, Nightreign will feature a separate narrative. It promises a fresh adventure filled with unique challenges and encounters, while retaining the atmospheric richness and intricate world design characteristic of the Elden Ring universe.
