Mastering Spider-Man's Spider-Tracer in Marvel Rivals for Victory
Whether you're a seasoned Spider-Man player or tackling a challenging Marvel Rivals match, understanding the Spider-Tracer mechanic is crucial. This guide explains what a Spider-Tracer is and how to effectively utilize it.
What is a Spider-Tracer?
While Marvel Rivals doesn't explicitly detail the Spider-Tracer, it's essentially a marker left by Spider-Man after using his Web-Cluster ability (LT on console, Right Click on PC). Although the Web-Cluster itself inflicts minimal damage, the Spider-Tracer significantly enhances subsequent attacks. For Peter Parker mains, mastering this is key to winning solo battles.
Utilizing the Spider-Tracer
The Web-Cluster has a five-shot capacity, allowing for five simultaneous Spider-Tracers. Hitting an opponent with the Web-Cluster applies the tracer, boosting your next attack's power and sometimes altering its function.
Here's how Spider-Man's moves are affected:
- Spider-Power (R2/Left Click): Deals increased damage to a Spider-Tracer-marked enemy.
- Get Over Here! (R1/E): Instead of pulling the enemy, Spider-Man is pulled towards the marked enemy.
- Amazing Combo (Square/X/F): Inflicts extra damage on a marked opponent.
Optimal Spider-Tracer Combos
The real skill lies in chaining moves after applying the Spider-Tracer. For maximum impact, try the Amazing Combo (dealing 110 damage with a tracer) followed by Spider-Power for a finishing blow.
Get Over Here! becomes a tactical maneuver when used with a Spider-Tracer. While it can be advantageous for quickly closing the distance, particularly against enemies flanking your rear, it's riskier if the enemy team provides support. Spider-Man's agility helps mitigate this risk.
