Elden Ring Nightreign, the upcoming cooperative action game, will notably omit the signature poisonous swamps found in many From Software titles. This revelation comes directly from Yasuhiro Kitao, the project's product manager, during a recent press interview.
While a swamp-like area was featured in the Elden Ring Nightreign trailer, Kitao clarified it's a distinct location. The absence of the traditional poisonous swamps is attributed to the non-participation of Hidetaka Miyazaki, From Software's president, known for his fondness of incorporating such environments into games like Elden Ring and the Dark Souls series. Miyazaki's absence from Nightreign's development accounts for this omission.

Interestingly, the possibility of a two-player mode remains open. Currently, only single-player and three-player modes have been confirmed, with initial exclusion of a two-player option cited as a challenge in content balancing. From Software is actively considering the addition of a two-player mode, but a final decision is pending.
Elden Ring Nightreign is slated for release on May 30, 2025, for PC and current and next-generation consoles.
