Becoming a Hollow in Hollow Era
You begin as a Soul Spirit. Choose to become a Shinigami or a Hollow. To become a Hollow, break all the links on your chain. Don't worry, a link breaks automatically every two minutes, so you'll become a Hollow eventually.
Warning: While Hollows are cool, playing as one requires significant grinding. Reaching Vasto Lorde or Espada demands considerable time and effort.
Hollow Progression in Hollow Era
Evolve into a Gillian by killing other Hollows and consuming their remains. Reach level 15 to become a Gillian. At level 10, access the Garganta to Hueco Mundo for easier Hollow hunting.
Remember, Hollows are attacked by both Shinigami and other Hollows, unlike Shinigami. (See our full Shinigami progression guide [link to guide if available]).
Gillian Form in Hollow Era
As a Gillian, kill Hollows and interact with Hollow Pillars in Hueco Mundo. Collect enough Progression Points to be transported to your inner world, where you must defeat five Hollows three times to become an Adjucha.
Inner world Hollows are tougher than regular ones. Don't be afraid to die; you can retry.
Adjucha Form in Hollow Era
From here, choose the Vasto Lorde or Arrancar path.
Arrancar Progression
Interact with a Crystal Bush (appears every 30-60 minutes in Hueco Mundo) to become an Arrancar. You can then use a keybind to travel to Hueco Mundo. (See list of Arrancar Resurrecciones [link to list if available]).
At level 50, you can obtain your Resurrección (more on that later). Currently, Arrancars only use Kendo skills.
Vasto Lorde Progression
To become a Vasto Lorde, continue killing and consuming Hollows for Progression Points. Dying causes a 1% loss of points. You need 800 Progression Points and all Hollow Items.
Hollow: 1 Point Gillian: 6 Points Adjucha: 4 Points Vasto Lorde: 8 Points Arrancar: 8 Points Espada: 10 Points

- Hollows: Back Fins (Epic, 5%), Fin Tail (Legendary, 1%)
- Gillian: Back Spikes (Rare, 10%)
- Adjucha: Tail (Epic, 5%), Single Horn (Uncommon, 25%), Double Horn (Rare, 10%), Triple Horn (Epic, 5%)
- Vasto Lorde: Spiral Horn (Epic, 5%)
Vasto Lorde Form in Hollow Era
Becoming a Vasto Lorde is challenging. Collect 800 Progression Points and obtain all Hollow Items.
Becoming Espada in Hollow Era
From Vasto Lorde, interact with a Crystal Bush in Hueco Mundo to become an Espada. Turn off Atmosphere, Bloom, and Depth of Field for easier spotting.
How to Get Your Resurrección
Reach level 50, then talk to Isen (King of Hueco Mundo) to begin the quest: defeat 50 Arrancars. Once complete, use your Resurrección (default keybind "Y") when your Rage Bar is full. The Rage Bar fills through damage dealt or received. Resurrección ends when Reiatsu or Rage runs out.

- Hollow Strength Node: Increases fist and strength move damage. (Claw Slash, Rock Throw, Hollow Slam)
- Hollow Reiatsu Node: Increases max Reiatsu and Hollow power damage. (Acid Spit, Acid Grab, Acid Slam)
- Hollow Vitality Node: Increases max health.
Gillian Skill Tree
- Gillian Strength Node: Increases fist and strength move damage. (Gillian Stomp, Gillian Roar)
- Gillian Reiatsu Node: Increases max Reiatsu and Gillian power damage. (Gillian Cero, Cero Burst)
- Gillian Vitality Node: Increases max health.
Adjucha Skill Tree

Hollow Era Tips and Tricks
Playing as a Hollow is less versatile than Shinigami and requires significant grinding. You'll be attacked by both Hollows and Shinigami. Use the lock-on button to manage combat. Invest in the bus teleport. Prioritize Strength and Speed skill points early on. Use "J" (default) to reveal markers with Reiatsu sense.
