A fresh update has arrived for Dune: Awakening, introducing key improvements to endgame PvE gameplay. Players can now farm Tier 6 resources more easily and enjoy increased chances of obtaining Unique loot drops in Deep Desert's PvE areas.
Previously, Funcom expanded Deep Desert's PvE zone from 10% to 50% of the map following player feedback. This came after developers acknowledged endgame frustrations during an AMA, promising to refine Deep Desert's PvP mechanics. Some players had criticized the endgame environment as overly aggressive, particularly after reports of griefers exploiting Ornithopters - first by crushing mechanics that were later patched out, then by deliberately landing on others' thopters to disrupt resource farming.
The recent 1.1.10.00 update brought numerous adjustments, though this newest patch specifically targets endgame concerns with comprehensive changes to Deep Desert and Landsraad systems.
The expansion of Tier 6 resource availability in PvE zones marks a significant improvement. Previously, acquiring these high-tier materials often required venturing into dangerous PvP territory. PvP enthusiasts also benefit from adjustments, including extended PvP security zone exit delays (5 to 30 seconds) to deter border camping tactics.
Here's the complete breakdown...
Dune: Awakening Patch Notes 1.1.15.0
Deep Desert, End Game, and Landsraad
Tier 6 resources now spawn across broader PvE zones in Deep Desert. Unique loot container respawn timers received randomization elements. Plastanium components now drop according to location type (Imperial Testing Stations, Caves, or Shipwrecks), though Shipwrecks and Buried Treasure may contain any variant. Medium spice fields increased from 5 to 8 spawns, while small fields rose from 22 to 30. The PvP security zone exit delay extends to 30 seconds to combat border camping. Landsraad tasks now accept post-completion Kill/Delivery contributions, though these only affect personal rewards without altering faction outcomes.
Other:
General stability improvements. Reduced instances of sandworms forcing vehicles underground. Added new PvP zone transition audio alerts.
FIXES
Resolved Harkonnen faction contract progression issues when exiting dialogue prematurely. Contract rewards now require inventory space before claiming. Fixed vehicle module highlight visibility after customization. Addressed pentashield positioning overlaps. Patched vehicle construction exploit using others' inventory items.
