Clair Obscur Developers Evaluating Switch 2 Port Possibility
Studio Calls Idea "Potentially Exciting"
The commercial success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 might lead developer Sandfall Interactive to pursue a Switch 2 release. During a May 2 interview with French content creator mistermv, director Guillaume Broche discussed the studio's future projects following their successful game launch.
Broche acknowledged that the game's performance has significantly altered their plans, stating: "The game's success has completely changed our outlook," adding that the team is currently evaluating various opportunities.
When specifically asked about Nintendo's upcoming console, Broche explained they're currently weighing multiple options: "Right now we're receiving numerous proposals - more than we can realistically handle - and we're determining which directions to pursue. While nothing's confirmed yet, a Switch 2 version certainly presents an exciting opportunity."
With the Switch 2 launch approaching, fans speculate whether this critically acclaimed Belle Époque-inspired RPG might become available on Nintendo's new platform. The decision remains pending as development discussions continue.
Official Merchandise Currently Unavailable
The overwhelming success has brought numerous commercial opportunities to Sandfall Interactive, including requests for official merchandise featuring popular character Esquie. The studio cautioned fans about counterfeit products circulating online, emphasizing they haven't authorized any merchandise yet.
A May 14 post on X (formerly Twitter) warned: "Important notice: Any third-party websites offering Esquie plushies are selling unauthorized products."
The developer strongly advised against purchasing these unofficial items, noting many use AI-generated artwork and may constitute fraudulent operations. However, they confirmed plans to develop authentic Esquie plushies.
The announcement stated: "We're actively working on bringing official Esquie plushies to market and will release them as soon as possible. Until then, we appreciate your patience - and please stay vigilant against scams!"
With fan enthusiasm continuing to grow, Sandfall Interactive appears committed to expanding the Clair Obscur experience through eventual official merchandise. The game is currently available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms.
