- Seamless handheld or wireless connectivity
- Compact design featuring full-sized joysticks
- Convenient Backbone companion app
Following last year's Backbone One 2nd-gen controller compatibility announcement for iPhone 16, the company now raises the bar with the Backbone Pro launch. This next-generation controller offers both Bluetooth wireless functionality and USB-C wired connection options.
The wired connection promises zero latency while eliminating charging needs, whereas wireless mode delivers enhanced portability and flexibility. Most remarkably, the Backbone Pro supports phones, tablets, laptops, smart TVs, and VR headsets.
Designed as a universal gaming solution, its FlowState Technology enables effortless switching between paired devices. The engineering team reportedly overcame significant challenges to achieve "the most compact form factor ever while incorporating full-size joysticks."

The controller boasts customizable features including remappable back buttons, complemented by the versatile Backbone app. Through this application, users gain access to games from Apple Arcade, Netflix, Xbox Remote Play, Steam Link, and Nvidia GeForce NOW. Backbone+ subscribers additionally receive complimentary access to its curated game library.
"We envision gaming's future extending beyond single devices," explains Maneet Khaira, Founder and CEO of Backbone. "The Backbone Pro delivers immersive gaming experiences across any screen with one universal controller."
