Roguelite Revenge: Idle Sword Mage's Quest

  • Raising Reincarnated SwordMage is an upcoming idle RPG arriving fresh to the mobile gaming scene
  • Similar to GoGo Wolf!, it combines the Survivors-like top-down perspective with automated combat skill management
  • Step into the shoes of SwordMage Aria on her quest for vengeance against those who betrayed her

You know how they say you wait for one bus and then three come at once? Well, right after GoGo Wolf!'s launch earlier today, another game of strikingly similar style landed on my radar. So let's dive into the details of the upcoming idle RPG action in Raising Reincarnated SwordMage.

Scheduled for a July release, this idle RPG—despite its somewhat cumbersome title—leans heavily into its unique premise. You take control of the sword mage Aria, betrayed by her closest allies on the eve of a decisive battle and left for dead. Now she has returned, reincarnated into her younger self as a novice swordswoman, driven by a burning desire for revenge.

In Raising Reincarnated SwordMage, gameplay works much as you’d expect from an autobattler. Your role is to decide when and how to deploy skills, continuously upgrade your vengeful SwordMage, and cut through waves of enemies.

Intense action

If blending Survivors-like gameplay with idle RPG mechanics is the new trend, I’m totally on board. That said, much like GoGo Wolf!, Raising Reincarnated SwordMage doesn’t clearly specify how much direct control players will have over Aria. After all, Vampire Survivors—despite its 30-minute sessions—already incorporates many features typical of idle RPGs. The key distinguishing element is the ability to maneuver your character.

With that in mind, for this emerging subgenre to truly make its mark, it should ideally let players fully leverage their combat skills—much like other Survivors-likes.

On that note, if you're eager to test your warrior skills in a Survivors-inspired setting, why not revisit the game that defined the genre? Browse our roundup of the top seven mobile games similar to Vampire Survivors and see which ones we rank alongside the very best.
