Bloodmoon Island stands as a mysterious location north of Reaper's Coast, isolated from the mainland by dense Deathfog covering the surrounding waters. The sole connecting bridge lies in ruins, making conventional access appear impossible. Venturing onto Bloodmoon Island advances key storylines and unlocks additional side quests.
Since the game provides limited guidance on navigating past the Deathfog, you may find yourself scouring Reaper's Coast for solutions. Below are all viable methods to reach Bloodmoon Island in Divinity: Original Sin 2.
Spirit Vision Reveals The Path
Initially, Bloodmoon Island connected to Reaper's Coast via a bridge, now collapsed, blocking direct passage. The remnants sit northeast of Cloisterwood, near Jahan and Witch Alice's locations.
Upon reaching the bridge ruins, you'll discover the Driftwood Fields waypoint. Casting Spirit Vision reveals spectral bridge sections amidst the wreckage. Some segments remain trapped, creating moderate challenge—yet traversal becomes manageable using these methods:
- Gloves of Teleportation: Obtained early in Act 1, these gloves grant teleportation without needing the skill. Though time-consuming, you can teleport each party member across individually.
- Movement Abilities: Skills like Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, and Tactical Retreat enable repositioning—ideal for navigating gaps. However, not all companions may possess these abilities.
- Teleporter Pyramids: Four pyramids exist for instant warping between paired items. Send one companion across using movement skills while they carry a pyramid, then teleport the remaining party members.
- Waypoint Fast Travel: Have one member cross and activate Bloodmoon Island’s waypoint; others can then fast-travel there directly.
Cross The Deathfog By Ferry
While the bridge offers reliable access, parties including Fane gain an alternate route. As an undead, Fane bypasses Deathfog's lethal effects.
Northwest of Cloisterwood, an undead ferryman offers passage—however, this proves fatal for living companions. Only Fane survives the crossing unharmed. Upon arrival, he can unlock the island's waypoint for others to teleport safely.
Ferry Crossing Without Fane
If Fane isn’t present, Teleporter Pyramids remain useful:
- Separate one companion (holding a pyramid) and board the ferry—they’ll perish upon arrival.
- Use another pyramid with surviving members to warp onto the island.
- Revive the deceased companion using scrolls or spells.
Without Fane, the spectral bridge remains the safer choice.
Warning: Attacking the ferryman risks triggering deadly Deathfog retaliation. If attempting combat, save beforehand—victory yields a Soothing Cold skillbook, basic belt, and 3,750XP.
