The Battle of Polytopia has spiced up its gameplay with the introduction of Weekly Challenges, offering players a fresh and exciting way to test their strategic prowess in this 4X strategy game. Let's delve into the details of this new competitive feature.
It Was Random Before
Previously, the game's randomness was a significant factor, with varying enemies, resources, and maps keeping the gameplay unpredictable. However, the latest free update brings a more structured approach to competition.
Each week, all players will face the same map, tribe, and gameplay conditions. The challenge? Achieve the highest possible score within 20 turns. You get one attempt per day, allowing for a maximum of seven tries per week. This new feature also allows you to experience tribes you might not yet own. With 16 tribes available—four included in the base game and twelve more that can be purchased for $1-4 each—Weekly Challenges level the playing field by letting everyone compete with the same tribe, regardless of ownership.

Will Weekly Challenges Make The Battle of Polytopia More Exciting?
Absolutely, and the addition of a League system adds another layer of competition. Everyone starts in the Entry League, with the opportunity to move up or down based on their weekly performance. The top third of players each week advance to a higher league, the bottom third drop down, and the middle group remains in their current league.
The difficulty level also scales with your progression. In the Entry League, you'll face AI on Easy mode, but as you climb to the Gold League, you'll be pitted against bots on Crazy difficulty. If you miss a week, you won't be demoted, but your ranking will adjust based on other players' performances.
