Minecraft Live 2025 has concluded, with developer Mojang unveiling an exciting lineup of new features and enhancements for the record-breaking game.
Mojang introduced the year's first seasonal update, "Spring to Life," designed to make Overworld biomes feel more vibrant through new cow, pig, and chicken variants, along with immersive environmental details like glowing firefly bushes, falling leaves, and desert wind sounds. This update launches March 25.
The unnamed second seasonal update will introduce the innovative Dried Ghast block, which can transform into a Ghastling (essentially a baby Ghast) when hydrated, eventually maturing into a rideable Happy Ghast. Players can craft special harnesses to pilot these cheerful mobs, with each capable of carrying four adventurers.
Mojang's flagship announcement was the "Vibrant Visuals" overhaul, described as the foundation for future graphical improvements without affecting core gameplay mechanics.

The studio also debuted an exclusive clip from the upcoming Minecraft movie and announced a special in-game event starting March 25 to celebrate the film.
During their Sweden visit, IGN learned why Mojang remains committed to the original Minecraft rather than developing sequels, adopting free-to-play models, or utilizing generative AI.
Minecraft Live 2025 Announcements:
Mojang detailed two major seasonal updates for 2025. "Spring to Life" (launching March 25) revitalizes environments with new mob variants and atmospheric elements like firefly bushes and drifting leaves. The second update introduces the remarkable Ghast lifecycle - from Dried Ghast blocks to playful Ghastlings that evolve into transportation-capable Happy Ghasts when properly harnessed.
Found in the Nether, Dried Ghasts transform into buoyant Ghastlings when submerged. These playful creatures mature into Happy Ghasts after consuming snowballs. The accompanying harness system enables aerial group travel with a new on-screen Locator Bar for navigation - particularly valuable for Survival Mode construction projects offering Creative Mode-like flexibility.
The graphical "Vibrant Visuals" enhancement marks the start of Mojang's visual evolution plans. Additionally, the studio previewed a movie-based live event where players team up with cinematic characters in Midport Village (March 25 - April 7), defending against piglin attacks across three mini-games to earn the exclusive Yearn cape.
