Konami Hints at Potential Metal Gear Solid 4 Remake and Next-Gen Ports
With the anticipated release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, Konami has fueled speculation regarding a potential Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (MGS4) remake and its inclusion on PS5, Xbox, and other platforms.
Konami's Subtle Tease Regarding MGS4's Future
In an interview with IGN, Konami producer Noriaki Okamura acknowledged the fervent fan interest in bringing MGS4 to modern consoles. While he stopped short of confirming any specific plans, Okamura's comments hinted at the possibility of MGS4's inclusion in Master Collection Vol. 2, stating that Konami is "internally concerned about what we should be doing for the future of the series." This statement, coupled with the success of Master Collection Vol. 1, which included remastered versions of MGS 1-3, strongly suggests future plans for MGS4.
MGS4 Remake Rumors Gain Momentum
The possibility of an MGS4 remake has been further fueled by several factors. Last year, placeholder buttons for MGS4, MGS5, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker appeared on Konami's official timeline, suggesting their inclusion in a future release. Additionally, David Hayter, the English voice actor for Solid Snake, hinted at his involvement in an MGS4-related project on social media.
The Future Remains Unclear
While the evidence points towards a potential MGS4 remake and next-gen release, Konami has yet to officially confirm any details. Fans eagerly await further announcements regarding Master Collection Vol. 2 and the long-awaited return of Metal Gear Solid 4.
