For newcomers to the Dynasty Warriors series, managing health in Dynasty Warriors: Origins can be a critical aspect of gameplay. As players engage in intense battles, taking damage is inevitable, prompting the need to understand the healing mechanics early on. Fortunately, the process of healing in this game is simple and user-friendly, primarily involving the use of a specific consumable item.
How to Heal in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
In keeping with the tradition of the Dynasty Warriors series, players can restore their health in Dynasty Warriors: Origins by consuming meat buns. These restorative items can be discovered by smashing pots scattered throughout and around enemy bases. Additionally, defeating Enemy Officers may yield meat buns as a drop, but this is only applicable on the Historian and Wayfarer difficulty settings. Players tackling the Hero and Ultimate Warrior difficulties will not receive meat buns from defeated officers.
To heal during combat, players with at least one meat bun in their inventory can press Up on the D-Pad to consume it at any time. If a player's inventory is full when they pick up a meat bun and they are not at full health, the item will be automatically consumed. However, if the player is already at full health, the meat bun will remain on the ground. Initially, players can carry up to three meat buns, but those who find this insufficient can upgrade their capacity with the Meat Bun Glutton skill.
For those who prefer not to manage healing manually, Dynasty Warriors: Origins offers an "Auto-Use Meat Buns" feature. This can be enabled in the Configuration menu and will automatically use meat buns when the player's health dips below a predetermined threshold. Even with this option activated, players can still manually use meat buns, making it a versatile choice for all players. Enabling this feature can be beneficial, even if not fully relied upon, as it provides an extra layer of safety during intense battles.
