The developers of the upcoming life simulation game, inZOI, recently addressed fan inquiries regarding the game's depiction of intimate relationships. When questioned about the presence of sexual content, the response from the assistant director was deliberately ambiguous, avoiding explicit language.
The explanation essentially stated that intimate interactions occur implicitly. If two ZOIs of opposite genders retire to bed together, it's implied they intend to procreate; however, the visual representation of this is left to the player's interpretation. The statement hinted at the inclusion of such interactions, but not in the manner some players anticipated.
Consequently, the level of censorship regarding intimacy in inZOI remains uncertain. It's unclear whether it will mirror the approach used in The Sims series or employ a novel method.
The developers also justified the ZOIs' use of towels during showers instead of pixelated censorship. They explained that this approach is more suitable for the game's cartoonish art style. In a more realistic style, pixelation can appear overly sexualized. Furthermore, a technical issue with pixelation in reflections was cited.
The game's rating provides further context. inZOI has received a T rating from the ESRB (Teen) and is anticipated to receive a PEGI 12 rating. These ratings align with those assigned to The Sims 4, offering a clue to the game's content.
