This adapter, as the creator explains, utilizes iOS-based firmware and a processor clocked at up to 168 MHz. The process involved accessing the adapter's firmware and then executing the game, leveraging a MacBook for firmware transfer due to the adapter's lack of internal memory.
This news comes alongside details about an upcoming iteration of the game. DOOM: The Dark Ages will feature significantly enhanced accessibility options. Players will have extensive control over various aspects of gameplay, including demon aggression. This focus on accessibility is a key design goal, according to executive producer Marty Stratton. Customization extends to enemy damage, difficulty, projectile speed, damage received, game tempo, and even parry timing.
Stratton further clarified that prior experience with DOOM: The Dark Ages isn't necessary to understand the narratives in either DOOM: The Dark Ages or DOOM: Eternal.
