Squares: Master the Daily Word Strand Puzzle! This strategic word game challenges you to complete squares on a grid to create words. The goal? Maximize your score by finding as many words as possible.
How to Play:
Connect letters in any direction – up, down, left, right, or diagonally – to form words. Words must be at least four letters long, and each tile can only be used once per word. Hyphenated words, proper nouns, offensive language, and obscure terms are excluded.
Scoring & Bonus Words:
Each letter in a word earns you one point (a five-letter word scores five points). The game also includes bonus words – less common terms – which don't earn points but appear on a separate list. You can hunt for these even after finding all the main words. Each puzzle also features a "Word of the Day," a longer bonus word that unlocks two extra hints upon discovery.
Game Features:
- Daily Puzzle: A new Squares puzzle is available daily at midnight.
- Grid Rotation: Rotate the grid left or right to gain a fresh perspective and uncover hidden words.
- Letter Hints: After finding 40% of the words, a hint system activates. Numbers on each letter indicate how many words begin with that letter (a zero means no words start with that letter). Orange letters are no longer used in the main words but may be in bonus words.
- Hints System: Each puzzle offers 3-5 hints (lightbulb icons) revealing the first letter and search direction of a random word. Hint availability depends on puzzle difficulty. Sharing the game link with friends earns you an additional hint!
