Hearthstone enthusiasts, gear up for an interstellar journey as Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 9 lands on December 3rd! This season promises cosmic vibes, cutting-edge tech, and a minion roster that's been so thoroughly revamped, it's like stepping into a brand new Tavern.

Welcome to Bob’s Technotavern, now with a futuristic twist. Season 9 brings a rating reset and bids farewell to Trinkets, making room for exciting new features like Battlegrounds Tokens. These tokens can be your game-changer at the hero selection screen, allowing you to reroll one of your hero options if the initial choices don’t spark joy. Just throw in a token and roll for a better match!
Before diving deeper into the new season’s offerings, let's outline the reveal and launch schedule. Today marks the reveal of Naga and Dragon minions, with Quilboar and Beast reveals following on November 21st. Pirate and Duos-only reveals are set for November 22nd, while Murloc and Demon reveals will captivate fans on November 25th. Elemental and Undead reveals are scheduled for November 26th. Mark your calendars for December 2nd, when preview event streams and the 31.2 patch notes will be unveiled.
What Else Is New?
Season 9 introduces three new heroes, with Farseer Nobundo leading the charge, armed with his Galaxy’s Lens and cosmic flares. The minion and Tavern spell pools are also seeing a massive shakeup, with nearly 90 minions and spells either joining or leaving the fray.
For solo Battlegrounds players, there’s a tweak to the damage cap. Early-game damage will start capped at 5, then increase to 10 on turn 4 and 15 on turn 8. Once you reach the top 4, the cap is lifted entirely.
The official rollout begins on December 3rd with the introduction of Beasts, Dragons, Quilboar, Pirates, Naga, and Mechs. Murlocs and Demons will join the party on December 5th, followed by Undead and Elementals on December 9th.
