Xbox Developer Direct 2025: A Sneak Peek at Upcoming Titles
Microsoft has announced the third annual Xbox Developer Direct, scheduled for January 23rd, 2025. This showcase, the first gaming event of the year, will offer a closer look at several highly anticipated Xbox titles. The event will stream on YouTube and Twitch at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT. This announcement follows earlier rumors circulating on January 9th.
Confirmed Games:
The Developer Direct will feature these confirmed titles:
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive, slated for a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
- Doom: The Dark Ages: id Software's latest entry in the Doom franchise, initially announced in June 2024 and showcased at QuakeCon 2024. A mid-2025 launch is currently rumored.
- South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game from Compulsion Games (creators of Contrast and We Happy Few), originally announced in June 2023. A release date is expected.
Beyond the Confirmed Lineup:
Previous Developer Directs have lasted over 40 minutes, showcasing multiple games. Given this precedent, the 2025 event likely holds more surprises beyond the three confirmed titles. The 2024 event, for instance, featured Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana.
