The Last Knight adds depth to the Rinascita area, providing a glimpse into life beyond Ragunna City. It's significantly shorter than quests like "Where Wind Returns to Celestial Realms," making it a quicker completion.
Starting the Quest
To begin, complete Chapter 2 of the main storyline (including "What Yesterday Wept, Today Doth Sing"). It's highly recommended to finish Chapter 2, Act 3 before exploring Rinascita, as many side quests are locked until then. Locate Cosimo in Egla Town, Whisperwind Haven; he's near the first house by the main road and marked with a blue quest marker.
The Night Reveries Performance
This involves participating in a performance honoring a legendary knight. This requires defeating the Mad Knight, who only appears at night (18:00 to 06:00). Find him at the town's central pool. He's not a particularly difficult opponent.
Mimic Chests Challenge
After defeating the Mad Knight, travel to the tallest tower and then to Carlow's location (marked on your map). He's unconscious near a large purple flower. Touching the flower transports you to an area with chests; only one is genuine; the others are mimics. The correct chest is the second one in the middle-left. Defeat the mimics after opening the correct chest.
Following the Knight's Trail
Next, visit two locations associated with the Mad Knight, following quest markers and interacting with NPCs.
After speaking with Mr. Millkeeper, follow the scent to a unique Chop Chop battle. A Questless Knight Echo is recommended for this fight, as it allows for parrying and stunning the enemy.
Finding Carlow
Return to Egla Town during the day and find Carlow in a town plaza. He'll be confronted by knights. The quest concludes after Carlow challenges one to a duel, revealing the truth behind the Mad Knight legend. You'll receive standard rewards upon completion.
