Blizzard has announced that World of Warcraft Classic's Season of Discovery will launch its seventh and final phase on January 28, bringing new adventures with the Karazhan Crypts dungeon and the Scourge Invasions event. Following closely, on February 6, guilds in World of Warcraft Classic will have the opportunity to tackle the legendary Naxxramas raid, featuring new challenges for players to conquer.
Phase 7 of Season of Discovery arrives just two months after Phase 6, which took players back to Silithus for the Scepter of the Shifting Sands quest chain and the Ahn'qiraj raids. During the Ahn'qiraj raids, players encountered a mysterious Shadowy Figure among the desert ruins. Speculation arose that this could be Xal'atath, the main antagonist from World of Warcraft: The War Within, but the figure only made cryptic remarks about the Old Gods during Phase 6. It's uncertain whether this enigmatic character will appear again in Phase 7.
While Phase 7 marks the conclusion of Season of Discovery, new challenges await World of Warcraft Classic players. Scheduled to go live on Tuesday, January 28, after server maintenance, Phase 7 will introduce the Karazhan Crypts, a new 5-player dungeon located in Deadwind Pass, delving beneath the famous tower of Karazhan, later known as a 10-player raid in The Burning Crusade. Additionally, the Scourge Invasions event will bring hordes of undead monsters to various zones and cities across Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. Players can participate in new Scourge Invasion quests at Light's Hope Chapel in the Eastern Plaguelands and collect Necrotic Runes from defeated undead enemies to acquire new consumable items.
