Following the release of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Koei Tecmo delivers another exciting title, Warriors: Abyss, a fresh take on the musou genre. Launching today, this roguelite features familiar faces from the Warriors series.
Showcased during today's PlayStation State of Play, Warriors: Abyss offers isometric gameplay, reminiscent of Diablo and Hades, where players assemble a squad to battle waves of demonic enemies. The trailer highlighted characters like Zhou Yu, Nobunaga Oda, and Sun Shang Xiang, representing a diverse roster from across the Warriors franchise.
According to the PlayStation Blog, players can recruit and expand their team, unlocking unique summoning abilities. Battles utilize up to seven active heroes, drawn from a launch roster of 100 warriors.
Koei Tecmo plans post-launch character additions, beginning with warriors from the Jin kingdom in Dynasty Warriors. Further expansions are teased, hinting at characters potentially outside the Warriors series.
Warriors: Abyss is available now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A Nintendo Switch release is slated for February 13, 2025. Players who purchase before March 14, 2025, will receive an in-game Dynasty Warriors Costume Set. For a complete rundown of today's PlayStation State of Play announcements, see our recap.
