Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2: A DRM-Free Experience
No Microtransactions, Either
In a recent FAQ, Saber Interactive revealed key details about the upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. Ahead of its September 9th release, they've confirmed the absence of DRM software like Denuvo.
While DRM aims to curb piracy, it's often criticized for negatively impacting game performance. Past examples, such as Capcom's Enigma DRM in Monster Hunter Rise (affecting Steam Deck compatibility and modding), highlight these concerns.
Although DRM is absent, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will utilize Easy Anti-Cheat on PC. Easy Anti-Cheat's reliability has been questioned following a hacking incident during the ALGS 2024 tournament in March.
Currently, official mod support isn't planned. However, the game boasts a PvP arena, horde mode, and a comprehensive photo mode. Saber Interactive assures players that all gameplay content is free, with microtransactions and DLC limited to cosmetic items only.
