These leaks have re-emerged two years on, indicating that the project remains active and in development. Most recently, following what appears to be a reboot of the game's development, an introductory cinematic has surfaced online.
The source and authenticity of the cinematic remain unverified by Ubisoft. It was shared by blogger Shaun Weber, known for leaking gaming content. Weber suggested that more videos from Project U could leak if the game continues to be developed. Project U is anticipated to be a session-based cooperative shooter, taking inspiration from the success of Helldivers 2. According to the leaked footage, the game's narrative centers on an alien machine invasion of Earth, where players assume the roles of chosen individuals tasked with thwarting this extraterrestrial menace.
