Morefun Studios' highly anticipated 3D action game, formerly known as Hitori no Shita: The Outcast, is back with a new name and release date! Now titled The Hidden Ones, this exciting brawler is set to launch in 2025, with a pre-alpha test kicking off in January.
Based on the popular webcomic, The Hidden Ones plunges players into modern-day China, following the journey of young martial artist Zhang Chulan. His seemingly ordinary martial arts skills are revealed to be highly sought after, thrusting him into a world of intense conflict.
The recently released gameplay trailer (see below) showcases impressive 3D combat, including parkour-style movement, energy projectile attacks, and intense brawling sequences. Secondary protagonist Wang Ye also makes an appearance.
A Grittier Take on Kung-Fu
Information on The Hidden Ones has been scarce, adding to the intrigue surrounding this title. However, initial impressions suggest a visually striking game with a darker, grittier aesthetic compared to other 3D ARPGs. This grounded approach could set it apart.
The game's success will likely depend on its ability to attract players unfamiliar with the source material. But for fans of intense kung-fu action, The Hidden Ones is definitely one to watch.
