Tuxedo Labs has exciting news for fans of their sandbox hit, Teardown. The developers have announced plans to introduce a multiplayer mode to the game, alongside the release of a new expansion called Folkrace DLC. This expansion will enrich the single-player experience with new maps, vehicles, and racing challenges. Players will dive into a variety of events, earn rewards, and customize their vehicles to excel on the tracks.
The multiplayer update will initially be available on Steam’s Experimental Branch, offering players an early chance to test this new feature. Tuxedo Labs is keen on receiving feedback, particularly from the modding community. Updates to the game’s API will enable modders to adapt their creations for multiplayer, ensuring a seamless transition.
This announcement represents the fulfillment of a long-standing goal for the development team and a much-anticipated feature requested by fans. At launch, the multiplayer mode will be accessible through the "Experimental" branch on Steam, while the team simultaneously updates the API for modders, allowing existing mods to work in multiplayer settings. After thorough testing, multiplayer will become a permanent feature of Teardown.
Looking forward, Tuxedo Labs has teased that two more major DLCs are on the horizon, with more information to be released later in 2025.
