Nightdive Studios' revamped version of the 1999 sci-fi horror RPG classic, initially titled System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition, is getting a name change and a new platform. Now known as System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, it's heading to the Nintendo Switch.
This updated version will soon launch on Windows PC (via Steam and GOG), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
The official synopsis:
The year is 2114. Awakening from cryo-sleep aboard the Von Braun starship, you find yourself with amnesia, amidst a catastrophic event. Hybrid mutants and lethal robots stalk the ship's corridors, their chilling cries echoing through the vessel's cold metal hull. SHODAN, a malevolent AI hellbent on humanity's annihilation, has seized control. Your mission: stop her. Nightdive Studios announced that a release date and a new trailer will debut during the Future Game Show Spring Showcase livestream on March 20, 2025.
