System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition Renamed System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, Also Coming to Nintendo Switch

Nightdive Studios' revamped version of the 1999 sci-fi horror RPG classic, initially titled System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition, is getting a name change and a new platform. Now known as System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, it's heading to the Nintendo Switch.

This updated version will soon launch on Windows PC (via Steam and GOG), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

The official synopsis:

The year is 2114. Awakening from cryo-sleep aboard the Von Braun starship, you find yourself with amnesia, amidst a catastrophic event. Hybrid mutants and lethal robots stalk the ship's corridors, their chilling cries echoing through the vessel's cold metal hull. SHODAN, a malevolent AI hellbent on humanity's annihilation, has seized control. Your mission: stop her. Explore the derelict Von Braun, deck by deck, uncovering the horrifying fate of the crew and immersing yourself in the richly detailed narrative and environments.

Nightdive Studios announced that a release date and a new trailer will debut during the Future Game Show Spring Showcase livestream on March 20, 2025.
