While *Split Fiction*'s core co-op adventure unfolds linearly, a wealth of optional Side Stories offer some of the game's most memorable moments. These aren't essential to the main plot, but they're well worth seeking out. Here's how to find all 12, scattered across Chapters 2 through 5.
Each chapter hides three Side Stories. Completing them all unlocks an achievement, so if you want the full *Split Fiction* experience, follow this guide:
Finding All Side Stories in *Split Fiction*
Chapter 2:
- Legend of the Sandfish: This Side Story appears naturally after completing the "Rush Hour" section; you can't miss it.
- Farmlife: Located in the "Streets of Neon" section, after hopping a small barrier, before reaching the elevators on the left.
- Mountain Hike: Found in "Big City Life." Reach the Port-A-Potties, have Mio enter one, then use Zoe to throw her to the opposite ledge with a ladder. Have Mio drop the ladder to access the Side Story.
Chapter 3:
- Train Heist: In "Lord Evergreen," while navigating the water on a plank, locate the ledge requiring a wall run from both Mio and Zoe.
- Gameshow: This Side Story is in "Walking Sticks of Doom," on a platform after a side-scrolling section, requiring some minor platforming to reach.
- Collapsing Star: Located in "Halls of Ice," on the main path through the palace—hard to miss.
Chapter 4:
- Kites: Found at the end of the long tube in "Toxic Tumblers."
- Moon Market: In "Test Chamber," on a ledge to the left after the crane sequence, requiring some platforming.
- Notebook: The final Chapter 4 Side Story, located in "Soaring Desperados." After obtaining the jetpack, avoid the giant wheel and hover to the left side of the room.
Chapter 5:
- Slopes of War: Found in "Water Temple." After hatching your dragons, solve the lever puzzle on the left after crossing the golden balls.
- Space Escape: Located in "Craft Temple." After defeating the dragon, use Mio's glide and Zoe's roll to reach a ledge, then have Mio drop a column for Zoe to climb.
- Birthday Cake: The final Side Story, in "Treasure Temple." It's to your left after completing the soul puzzle.
Completing all 12 Side Stories automatically unlocks the Bookworms achievement.
