Stellar Blade's recent update, Patch 1.009, introduced highly anticipated features—Photo Mode and NieR: Automata DLC—but unfortunately, also brought along some critical bugs. This article details the issues and the developer's response.
Game-Breaking Bugs and the Hotfix
The update caused several game-breaking problems. Players reported being softlocked during a main quest in an earlier dungeon, unable to progress the storyline. Others experienced crashes when using Photo Mode's selfie camera, and some new cosmetic items failed to render correctly on Eve.
Developer Shift Up is actively working on a hotfix patch to address these issues. Players are advised to avoid attempting to force quest progression and wait for the patch to prevent potential permanent softlocks.
NieR: Automata Collaboration and Photo Mode Enhancements
The 1.009 patch includes the exciting NieR: Automata collaboration! Eleven exclusive items are available by finding Emil, the NieR character who has set up shop in Stellar Blade's world. The developers highlighted the significant inspiration NieR: Automata provided and the collaborative spirit between Director Kim Hyung Tae and Director Yoko Taro.
Photo Mode, a long-requested feature, is finally here! Players can now capture stunning images of Eve and her companions. New photo challenges have also been added to encourage its use.
This update also includes four new outfits for Eve, a new accessory (unlocked after a specific ending) altering Tachy Mode's appearance, a "No Ponytail" option for increased customization, lip-sync support for six additional languages, improved projectile auto-aim and bullet magnet functions for the instant death skill, and various minor bug fixes.
