Stardew Valley's highly anticipated 1.6 update finally arrives on mobile devices on November 4th, 2024! Console and mobile gamers can now experience the massive update, originally released on PC in March 2024.
What's New in Stardew Valley 1.6 Mobile?
This update significantly expands the gameplay experience. Online multiplayer now supports up to eight players, doubling the previous limit for collaborative farming, fishing, and building. Two exciting new fishing festivals—the Trout Derby and SquidFest—join the existing seasonal events, including the Desert Festival.
A fresh farm layout, the Meadowlands Farm, offers a perfect blend of livestock raising and convenient fishing opportunities. Over 100 new NPC dialogues add depth and richness to interactions with the town's beloved characters.
Stardew Valley 1.6 introduces a plethora of new items: a Big Chest (nearly twice the size of a standard chest), a dehydrator for preserving produce, a heavy furnace, and a bait maker for targeted fishing.
Customization options abound with new furniture styles and over 25 new hats. Players can collect prize tickets from quests and festivals, redeemable for rewards at a prize machine in Lewis's house.
After maxing out your initial pet's affection, you can now own multiple pets, each potentially bringing gifts, and—get this—you can even put hats on them! You'll also notice NPCs sporting winter attire.
A golden Joja parrot assists in locating those elusive golden walnuts on Ginger Island. New crops include carrots, summer squash, broccoli, powdermelon, and two giant crop varieties.
Reasons for the Delay
The delay in releasing the update for mobile and consoles allowed the developers to thoroughly test the update on PC and address any bugs before wider release. The wait is finally over, so prepare for new fishing events, adorable pets, and exciting new crops!
