Star Wars: Hunters, despite not reaching its first year, will have the chance to celebrate its one-year anniversary before its scheduled shutdown. But is celebrating the anniversary of a game on its last legs really worth it? That's a question many fans are pondering as the game winds down.
When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?
The servers for Star Wars: Hunters are set to go offline on October 1st, 2025, marking the end of the road after just nine months since its launch. Players have been given a bit more time to wrap up Season 5, which will conclude on April 15th.Zynga, the game's developer and publisher, is rolling out a final content update on April 15th, introducing the last new Support Hunter, Tuya, for free. On the same day, in-game purchases will be disabled.
Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers shut down, and events from the season will be rerun. Players with unspent Crystals should use them before the shutdown as no refunds will be offered.
It Isn’t Shocking
While it's disappointing, the shutdown of Star Wars: Hunters may not come as a surprise to many. Announced back in 2020, the game faced numerous delays and only conducted beta tests in the SEA and ANZAC regions. The lack of major console support and a tepid reception contributed to its downfall. From a design perspective, the game missed an opportunity to capitalize on the rich universe of Star Wars. Instead of featuring iconic characters, it introduced generic original characters, which may have alienated fans of the franchise.
For those who uninstalled the game but wish to experience it one last time, Star Wars: Hunters remains available for download on the Google Play Store until the shutdown date.
