Following a minor leak last week, EA has officially confirmed the title and developer of its upcoming *Star Wars* game. The new title is *Star Wars: Zero Company*, and it's being developed by Bit Reactor in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games and Respawn Entertainment.
This marks the first official glimpse into the game, showcasing what appears to be a gritty, tactical military experience set within the expansive *Star Wars* universe. While details remain limited at this stage, EA has confirmed that *Star Wars: Zero Company* will be a "single-player turn-based tactics game." Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait too long for more information, as EA plans to reveal additional details during a live panel at Star Wars Celebration Japan on April 19.
Bit Reactor, the studio leading development, is a relatively new team formed in 2022. It consists of experienced developers who have previously worked on critically acclaimed titles such as *XCOM*, *Civilization*, *Gears of War*, and *Elder Scrolls Online*. This project represents their debut release, and expectations are high given the pedigree of the team involved.
As for Respawn’s role in the development, it remains somewhat unclear how deeply involved the studio is. This comes amid a turbulent period for Respawn following the cancellation of its own *Star Wars* first-person shooter just one year ago—alongside significant layoffs at EA—and another canceled multiplayer FPS project announced just last month.
The upcoming panel for *Star Wars: Zero Company* will take place on Saturday, April 19 at 4:30 PM local time in Japan. For viewers in North America, that translates to 12:30 AM PT and 3:30 AM ET, so you may want to set your alarms or plan accordingly to catch the live reveal.
