Next month, 22 games will be removed from the PlayStation Plus library, including popular titles such as Grand Theft Auto 5, Payday 2: Crimewave Edition, and the final playable versions of iconic first-party PS3 games—Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2.
PlayStation Plus is a subscription-based online service for PlayStation users, offering free monthly games, limited-time trials, online multiplayer access, exclusive member discounts, and a vast game catalog featuring hundreds of current and classic titles for Extra and Premium subscribers.
According to reports from Push Square, these 22 titles will be delisted on May 20, 2025. Among them are two high-profile first-party Sony titles originally released for the PS3, both of which will no longer be accessible through the PS Plus Premium library after removal.

What makes this removal particularly significant is that Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2 are no longer available for purchase on the PlayStation Store. This means that the PS Plus Premium streaming service was the last opportunity for modern players to experience these titles unless they already own a physical copy and have access to a working PS3 console. Both games were added to the library in late 2024 and are now being taken away less than a year later.
The Resistance series is a set of alternate history first-person shooters developed by Insomniac Games following their success with the Ratchet & Clank franchise. Three mainline entries were released for the PS3 before the studio shifted focus to newer projects like Marvel’s Spider-Man and the latest Ratchet & Clank titles.
While it’s relatively rare for Sony to remove first-party titles from its services, it isn’t entirely unprecedented. In August 2024, both Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon: Forbidden West were unexpectedly pulled from the service. However, those titles remained available for purchase. Once Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2 are gone, modern players won't have any official way to play them anymore.
Interestingly, Resistance 3 and Resistance: Retribution will remain available on the platform. Additionally, the more recent PS4 title InFamous: Second Son is also scheduled for removal from PlayStation Plus.
The Resistance series has been dormant for quite some time. Back in February, Insomniac founder and former president Ted Price shared that there had been internal interest in developing a fourth installment, but unfortunately, the project never received full approval. Like Guerrilla Games' Killzone series, Resistance has quietly faded into gaming history.
