Silksong Developer Reaffirms Release For Switch 1
Following Silksong’s quick appearance at the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2, fans speculated that the game might skip the current generation and head straight to the next-gen. Originally announced in 2019 for PC and Switch 1, and later confirmed for PlayStation and Xbox consoles, Silksong has been eagerly awaited.
Matthew Griffin, Team Cherry's Marketing and PR Handler, took to Twitter (X) on April 8 to address fans’ concerns about the game’s platform release. Griffin reassured the community that Silksong will indeed be available on both the original Switch and the upcoming Switch 2.
While there are no official details yet on how these versions will differ, players can anticipate that the Switch 2 version will benefit from higher resolutions and enhanced features.
New Silksong Images Revealed
Following the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2, fresh images of Silksong were showcased on Nintendo Japan’s official website. Though the depicted locations were familiar from previous reveals, fans have noticed some graphical enhancements since the game's initial unveiling in 2019.
Despite the developers maintaining a tight-lipped approach on most details, Silksong’s brief appearance during the Switch 2 Direct and the new images hint at an imminent release date announcement. Recent updates to Silksong’s Steam Metadata have further fueled fans' hopes for a launch later this year.
