How to Become a Shinigami in Hollow Era
Embarking on your journey as a Shinigami begins with your status as a Soul Spirit at the game's start. To transition into a Shinigami, or Soul Reaper, you must engage with an NPC known as Hurt Shinigami, who beckons for aid. Accepting her quest is your irrevocable commitment to the Shinigami path, closing off the Hollow route unless you later choose to become a Visored. If the allure of the Hollow path calls to you, our separate guide on Hollow progression awaits.
Act quickly during the selection of paths. Choosing to become a Hollow requires breaking your chain, while opting for the Shinigami path results in your chain slowly deteriorating. Every two minutes, a section of the chain breaks; neglect it long enough, and you'll transform into a Hollow, at which point you can explore our resurrection moves lists for your Hollow endgame.
Hollow Era Shinigami Quests Guide
Your initial mission as a Shinigami is to purify 6 Lost Souls, embodying the Shinigami's duty to maintain the balance between life and death. Following this, you'll receive a quest from an NPC near Hurt Shinigami, tasking you with delivering a letter to a Doctor friend by the hospital.
These early quests are perfect for getting acquainted with your powers. Equip yourself with a $1,000 random sword of power from a Urakara shop. For efficient navigation across the vast map, consider using the bus stop as a teleport/fast travel option for $200, or for a smoother experience, invest in infinite fast travel for 149 Robux from the Robux Shop.
Quests are marked with a red crosshair, guiding you through tasks like defeating one Hollow, then five Corrupted Shinigamis, and more until you reach level 15. Quests come in various forms: repeatable quests, progression quests, and those linked to specific paths like Vizard and Airwalk.
Full Soul Reaper Skill Tree and Reiatsu
Mastering your Shinigami Reiatsu requires strategic investment of your skill points. The Reiatsu Skill Tree offers potent Kido abilities exclusive to Shinigami characters.
Reiatsu Nodes boost your maximum Reiatsu output, while Kido Nodes enhance the damage of your Kido skills. Here are some key Kido abilities:
- Caja Negacion: Launches a beam of lightning from your finger, spreading electricity when combined with Electric.
- Shakkaho: Generates a red energy ball that explodes on impact. When enhanced with Ragdoll, it can knock back foes, and with Fire, it ignites them.
- Chain Bind: Summons energy chains to ensnare and pull enemies towards you.
- Prison of Light: Encircles the enemy with six light rods, immobilizing them—ideal for agile adversaries.
- Thunder Sear: A slow-moving lightning ball that damages and explodes upon contact with foes, perfect for crowd control.
How to Get Shikai in Hollow Era
Reaching level 15 unlocks the Shikai Training quest from Urihiro, challenging you to defeat Urahara Kisuke for 1,700 exp. Upon completion, you can harness Shikai powers.
Warning: Facing Kisuke at level 15 can be tough if your hero isn't fully optimized. Feel free to grind up to level 25 or beyond before attempting this challenge.
Using Shikai
Upon unlocking Shikai, your weapon gains a random mighty ability, which you can re-roll at Urahara Shop if it doesn't suit your style. The game's Rage Bar fills with damage taken or dealt, and when full, you can activate Shikai with Y (default keybind). Shikai deactivates upon depleting your Reiatsu reserves or releasing the key.
Hollow Era Shikai Mastering
Your Shikai Mastery Level grows with Mastery Points earned by using Shikai Skills, directly impacting your Rage Bar's efficiency. Higher Mastery Levels mean less Rage spent on Shikai usage.
- Mastery Level 1 (1-149 Points): Grants Transparent Aura.
- Mastery Level 2 (150-299 Points): Provides a brighter aura with particles.
- Mastery Level 3 (300-499 Points): Boosts with Lightning.
- Mastery Level 4 (500+ Points): Surrounds you with a zone of flying stones.
Becoming a Visored in the Hollow Era
While choosing the Shinigami path locks you out of becoming a Hollow, becoming a Visored allows you to bridge the gap between Shinigami and Hollow with a Hollow Mask. To unlock this path, you must reach level 50 and acquire the Vizard fighting style at the Vizard’s Warehouse.
The journey to Visored status involves obtaining the Hogyoku, a rare orb dropped by the King of Hueco Mundo with a mere 1% drop rate. This orb is crucial for breaking the barriers between Shinigami and Hollow, fulfilling the desires of those around it.
Hollow Era Visored Mastering
As a Visored, you gain Mask Control to resist Hollow control and extend mask-wear time with the Visored node, enhancing your damage output with Hollow powers.
Visored Abilities in Hollow Era
- Hollow Mask: Grants control over your inner Hollow, allowing you to don the mask at will.
- Cero: Charges a beam of Reiatsu for significant damage.
- Final Cero: Pins down enemies and crushes them with a powerful Cero from above.
- Vasto Rage: Transforms you into the mightiest Hollow type for a limited time, unleashing your full potential.
What About Hollow Era Bankai?
Currently, Bankai is not available in Hollow Era. However, given the game's popularity, future updates may introduce this powerful ability. Stay tuned for any announcements regarding Bankai's addition.
