If you're in the market for a high-end prebuilt gaming PC, you'll be pleased to know that premium options can still come with significant savings. Currently, Dell is offering a remarkable deal on the Alienware Aurora R16 equipped with a GeForce RTX 4090, priced at $3,699.99 after a hefty $1,000 instant discount. Considering that standalone RTX 4090 graphics cards are seeing price increases and can cost upwards of $2,000 from reputable sellers, opting for this prebuilt PC might be more cost-effective than assembling your own. Additionally, you benefit from a comprehensive warranty that covers the entire system.

This Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC boasts an Intel Core i9-14900KF CPU, a GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, 64GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a spacious 4TB NVMe SSD. The 14th gen Intel Core i9-14900KF stands out as the top Intel gaming CPU available today, excelling in both gaming and productivity tasks. Although it tends to run hot, it's effectively cooled by a robust 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler. The system is powered by a reliable 1,000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply.
The RTX 4090 is currently the most powerful GPU on the market, outpacing all competitors from both NVIDIA and AMD. In his review, Chris Coke praised the RTX 4090, stating, "The RTX 4090 may be huge and expensive, but holy smokes if it doesn’t blow the competition out of the water... Until the rest of the pack can catch up, between its impressive hardware specs and its DLSS 3 AI wizardry, even the $1,599 price doesn’t seem unreasonable for the unrivaled frame rates that this card can crank out." With this GPU, you can enjoy any game at 4K resolution with ultra settings and ray tracing enabled, delivering high framerates even in the most demanding new titles like Black Myth: Wukong or Warhammer Space Marine 2. It's also the preferred consumer card for AI applications, thanks to its 24GB of GDDR6X VRAM.
A note on RTX 5000 series GPUs
NVIDIA's upcoming RTX 5000 series GPUs are slated for release starting at the end of January. While the RTX 5090 promises even greater power, it will come with a steep price tag of $2,000 for the Founder's Edition at launch, and availability might be limited. The RTX 5080 will launch at $999, but it too may face availability challenges. We plan to benchmark this card soon, but it will feature less VRAM than the 4090 (16GB vs 24GB) and may not fully eclipse the 4090's performance.
A note on Alienware's newest "R16" desktop chassis
The R16 represents Alienware's 2024 desktop PC design, which is 40% smaller in volume than its predecessors. It employs a proven airflow pattern, drawing air in through side intake vents over the GPU area and a 120mm front fan, and expelling it via a 120mm rear fan and two 120mm top fans. The 240mm radiator for the all-in-one liquid cooling system is mounted to these top fans. While some configurations may not include liquid cooling, we typically recommend those that do, as Alienware's liquid cooling solution significantly outperforms their stock air cooling and justifies the additional cost. Note that Dell unveiled a new Area 51 chassis at CES 2025, but it closely resembles the R16 in both appearance and design.
