In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, missing out on certain side tasks can be frustrating, especially when you can't return to them. One such side task is finding Rosa's book, which is crucial not only for the quest but also for potential romantic developments with Rosa. Here's how you can successfully unlock and complete the "Rosa's Book" side quest.
Unlocking the Rosa's Book Side Quest
To initiate the "Rosa's Book" quest, you must first complete the "Via Argentum" quest and then start "Taking French Leave." During "Taking French Leave," after assisting the Ruthard family in dealing with Vavak—whether through force or persuasion—you are directed to speak with Rosa. She will inform you about a secret passage into Maleshov that can be used to rescue Hans. In this conversation, Rosa will also ask you to retrieve a book for her while you're in Maleshov. Make sure to ask her about the specifics of the book and promise to bring it back to her, which officially starts the "Rosa's Book" quest.

It's important to note that you can only complete this side quest during the "Taking French Leave" quest. If you leave Maleshov with Hans without finding the book, the quest will fail, and you will miss the opportunity to romance Rosa.
Finding Rosa's Book
Upon entering Maleshov, head towards the largest tower where Hans is located at the top. Use the stairs on the side of the building to reach the entrance. Once inside, you'll find another set of stairs and a kitchen nearby. Use the kitchen as a hiding spot until the guards upstairs leave the tower.

After the guards have left, sneak up the stairs to a room where you'll find Lady Ofka sitting and facing the fireplace. Sneak behind her and knock her out. Take the keys from her body, the keys from the podium in her room, and the sword from the chest. In this same room, to the right of the fireplace, you'll see a red book in the window alcove. Pick up the book, and your objective will update to return it to Rosa.

While in the area, don't forget to check the adjacent room and take another sword from the chest there. This will save you time later when you meet Hans, as you'll need two weapons for him and his surprise guest. After securing the items, head to the top level and unlock the door on the left to trigger a cutscene.
Following the cutscene, continue with "Taking French Leave." Although Hans may not want to use the passageway, you can work towards romancing him by choosing the dialogue option with a heart icon, provided you also chose the heart option in Trosky. From here, make your way to the stables on the north side of Maleshov, knocking out and hiding guards as necessary to clear a path. Signal Hans and ensure he reaches the stables safely.
Once you open the gate, another cutscene will play, concluding the quest. After the cutscene, return to Kuttenberg City and stop by Ruthard Palace to deliver Rosa's book in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*.
