Unveiled during IGN Fan Fest Day 2 2025, the trailer from Ratatan Works highlights the unique blend of rhythm game elements and side-scrolling action. Prepare for intense online co-op battles with up to four players, commanding a massive army of up to 100 characters in epic melee clashes.Created by Patapon creator Hiroyuki Kotani, with the original Patapon composer Kemmei Adachi returning, Ratatan's Kickstarter campaign, launched in 2023, has successfully reached its console launch stretch goal, ensuring a release on multiple platforms.
Closed Beta Commences February 27, 2025
According to a recent Kickstarter update, Ratatan's closed beta test will begin on February 27, 2025. Producer Kazuto Sakajiri shared some exciting updates, revealing that the game has surpassed 100,000 wishlists on Steam and received positive feedback on the Ratatan Original Soundtrack Demo. While the game won't be featured in the upcoming Steam Next Fest, the team is prioritizing the closed beta and focusing on delivering an improved demo for the June Steam Next Fest.
Sakajiri outlined the closed beta's scope, stating that the initial build will include Stage 1, with Stages 2 and 3 added during the month-long test period. He also noted that "The distribution of codes, start date, and time will be announced via Discord and X as soon as they are confirmed."
Ratatan is slated for release in 2025 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. A specific release date is yet to be announced.
