Hearthstone's Year of the Raptor: A 2025 Packed with Surprises
Get ready for a thrilling year in Hearthstone! 2025 promises a fresh wave of gameplay, exciting new features, and the usual exciting releases: three expansions, mini-sets, and Battlegrounds seasons. The overwhelmingly positive reception to the Heroes of StarCraft mini-set has clearly energized Blizzard, fueling their commitment to keeping the fun going all year long. They've even unveiled a roadmap offering a sneak peek into what's to come.
What's New in the Year of the Raptor?
One of the most significant updates is the highly anticipated Arena revamp. In development since last year, this refresh promises to revitalize the Arena experience for both veteran and new players alike.
Cosmetics are also getting a major upgrade. Expect new Mythic skins and Signature cards, alongside a brand-new addition: Pets! These adorable companions will be integrated into a new cosmetic acquisition system, though the specifics remain under wraps for now.
The Year of the Raptor officially begins with the first expansion, Into the Emerald Dream. Card reveals start next week, but the in-game celebration has already begun! Complete the Event Track to earn rewards including The Great Dark Beyond Epic cards, packs from the new expansion, and a Raptor Herald card.

A new, evolving game board will launch alongside the expansion, remaining a staple throughout the Year of the Raptor. Expect visual and audio updates with each subsequent expansion.
