The legendary Black Kyurem and White Kyurem are making their highly anticipated debut during the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global event. Both come equipped with unique Adventure Effects that can enhance your Pokémon catching experience outside of battle. Make sure to leverage the Tour Pass to maximize your earnings throughout the event.
Black Kyurem’s Freeze Shock ability encases wild Pokémon in electrically charged ice for 10 minutes, immobilizing them and making them easier to catch. On the other hand, White Kyurem’s Ice Burn slows down the target ring during encounters, facilitating Excellent Throws. Both effects can be extended in 10-minute increments, up to two hours at a time, with a total extension possible of 24 hours.
During the event, you'll have the opportunity to challenge Black Kyurem and White Kyurem in five-star raids to gather Fusion Energy. By fusing Zekrom or Reshiram with a Kyurem that knows Glaciate, you'll unlock either Freeze Shock or Ice Burn, which will replace Glaciate. Note that these moves will revert back to Glaciate once the Pokémon are separated. Currently, Kyurem cannot learn these moves through Charged TM or Elite Charged TM.
You'll have the choice between two event badges: Black Version (Reshiram) or White Version (Zekrom). Choosing the Black Version means encountering Kyurem that know Glaciate after defeating Black Kyurem, along with receiving Reshiram-themed Special Research rewards. Opting for the White Version grants Zekrom-themed Special Research rewards, with Kyurem encountered after defeating White Kyurem also knowing Glaciate.
To enhance your event experience, utilize the Tour Pass, which not only unlocks various rewards but also boosts your Adventure Effects. Earn Tour Points by catching Pokémon, completing raids, and hatching Eggs, or accelerate your progress with quick Pass Tasks. Achieving Major Milestones will boost your Catch XP and extend the duration of either Freeze Shock or Ice Burn.
