Niantic has exciting news for Pokémon Go trainers in Chile and India with the launch of the Wayfarer Challenge, offering a unique opportunity to influence their local game environment and earn exclusive rewards. This event encourages players to engage with the Niantic Wayfarer platform, where they can review and approve nominations for new PokéStops and Gyms, enhancing the Pokémon Go experience in their areas.
The Wayfarer Challenge will run from March 7th to 9th in Chile and from March 10th to 12th in India. During these dates, trainers can nominate various real-world locations like landmarks, sculptures, and street art to potentially become new PokéStops and Gyms. Participating in this process not only helps grow the game's map but also contributes towards achieving community milestones.
If the community collectively resolves 5,000 nominations, all participants will be rewarded with 20 Ultra Balls, a Star Piece, an Incense, and a Poffin. Should the milestone reach 10,000 approvals, the rewards escalate to 25 Ultra Balls, two Star Pieces, two Incense, two Poffins, and a Lucky Egg.
To participate, trainers must be at least level 37 in Pokémon Go and possess a Niantic Wayfarer account. New users will need to complete the Wayfarer Orientation before they can start reviewing nominations. Additionally, participants must have recently played in Chile or India or have set their Wayfarer Hometown or Bonus Location to one of these countries. To be eligible for rewards, you must review at least 50 nominations, and at least one community milestone must be achieved.
Alongside the Wayfarer Challenge, the PokéStop Challenge will also take place from March 9th to 12th, exclusively in Chile and India. This event offers 3x XP for first-time visits to new PokéStops, 3x Stardust from opening Gifts, and increased chances of encountering Kecleon. Event-specific Field Research will provide opportunities to encounter Eevee, while Timed Research tasks will allow players to catch other Pokémon.
