The Pokémon Company's subsidiary, Pokémon Works, will assume responsibility for Pokémon Sleep's ongoing development and updates from Select Button.
From Select Button to Pokémon Works
Established in March 2024, Pokémon Works, a new subsidiary of The Pokémon Company, will now oversee Pokémon Sleep's future. An in-app announcement (translated from Japanese) confirmed the gradual transfer of development and operational responsibilities from Select Button to Pokémon Works. The global app's news section hasn't yet reflected this update.
Pokémon Works, a collaborative venture between The Pokémon Company and Iruka Co., Ltd., aims to enhance the Pokémon experience, making interactions with Pokémon more immersive and enjoyable for players. Their past contributions include work on Pokémon HOME. The company's location in Shinjuku, Tokyo, is notably shared with ILCA, the studio behind Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, further highlighting their connection to the Pokémon franchise. While their future plans for Pokémon Sleep remain undisclosed, their commitment to a more realistic and engaging Pokémon experience is clear.
