Following months of speculation and leaks, Pokémon Champions, a new multiplayer Pokémon battle game, has been officially unveiled. Developed collaboratively by Game Freak and The Pokémon Works (a joint venture between The Pokémon Company and ILCA, the studio behind Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl), this title focuses on competitive Pokémon battles.
The trailer showcased core-style battles, online multiplayer functionality, and confirmed the inclusion of Mega Evolution and Terastalization. The game aims to encompass Pokémon from various generations and types.
Crucially, Pokémon Champions will integrate with Pokémon Home, enabling players to transfer Pokémon from previous games. This long-awaited feature finally provides a purpose for the vast collections many fans have amassed.
Currently in development for Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, a release date remains unannounced. The game will support Latin American Spanish at launch, in addition to other languages.
