EA has unveiled an exciting new tool called Battlefield Labs, which serves as an internal closed beta for upcoming games in the renowned Battlefield series. In a brief glimpse of the action, the developers have shared a few seconds of gameplay footage from the current pre-alpha version, sparking anticipation among fans.
Within Battlefield Labs, selected participants will have the unique opportunity to test core mechanics and innovative concepts. However, it's important to note that not all features tested will necessarily make it into the final game. To ensure confidentiality, participants must sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) before diving into the various gameplay elements. The testing environment will include popular modes like Conquest and Breakthrough. Initially, the focus will be on refining combat and the game's iconic destruction system, with subsequent phases dedicated to balancing gameplay.
EA has now opened pre-registration for Battlefield Labs on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series platforms. A select group of a few thousand players will receive invitations in the coming weeks, with plans to extend the program to additional regions in the future.
