Plants vs. Zombies is returning with a brand-new remastered edition.
The original game is receiving a stunning HD overhaul and fresh content with Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted.
Enjoy local co-op and PvP modes—but don’t expect a mobile release just yet.
Plants vs. Zombies. A name alongside Clash of Clans, Fruit Ninja, and Jetpack Joyride—defining icons of mobile gaming. Likely the very title you’d cite when someone dismisses mobile as “not real gaming.” Now, step back into 2009 with the all-new Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted!
Yes, it’s real—not a hoax, not a dream. The legendary tower defense classic is officially returning to mobile with a full remaster. Upscaled HD visuals, local co-op, PvP battles, and a mountain of new features are waiting when it launches on October 23rd.
You’ll even get to test your strategy in the all-new Cloudy Day Mode. If you think you’ve mastered PvZ, this mode will challenge you with limited sunlight and restricted planting options—for a truly intense experience.
Planters
Classic minigames are back, along with everything you loved about the original PvZ. Plus, explore a vast archive of Plants vs. Zombies content that reveals how PopCap Studios rose to become a mobile gaming powerhouse.
The only question? It’s unclear whether Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted will receive a broad mobile release. Yes, it’s shocking—but so far, the only confirmed platforms (beyond console-exclusive stores and PC) are the EA App and Epic Games Store, neither of which currently support mobile.
If EA is limiting this major remaster to third-party storefronts, that’s significant news. But without a confirmed mobile release date, our otherwise bright outlook grows cloudy.
Either way, there’s still time to wait before more details emerge—so why not check out our list of the top five new mobile games to try this week?
