Conquering Happiness Hands in Persona 4 Golden: A Guide
Happiness Hands are formidable foes in Persona 4 Golden, randomly appearing in dungeons and escaping easily. Defeating them yields substantial XP, making the challenge worthwhile. This guide focuses on overcoming Happiness Hands in Yukiko's Castle, early in the game.
Happiness Hand Weaknesses and Strategies
Happiness Hands boast strong elemental resistance, rendering elemental attacks ineffective. The key is to exploit their vulnerability to physical attacks. While Almighty attacks are usually effective against Golden Hands, they're unavailable early in the game. Happiness Hands inflict minimal damage but flee if they hit a weakness or land a critical hit. Prioritize targeting a single Happiness Hand if multiple appear, as defeating them all before they escape is unlikely.
Essential Persona and Tactics
The most crucial element is fusing Orobas. Orobas possesses Hysterical Slap, a two-hit skill with a chance to inflict Rage. A Raged Happiness Hand will continuously use basic attacks, preventing its escape. Orobas can be fused using:
- Apsaras + Forneus
- Apsaras + Slime
Before engaging, ensure your party is fully healed. Focus solely on physical attacks that consume HP. Utilize:
- Yosuke: Sonic Punch
- Chie: Skull Cracker
- Protagonist: Hysterical Slap
Repeat this attack cycle until victory. Success heavily relies on luck at this early stage, due to limited options. However, defeating even one Happiness Hand provides significant experience gains.
Crucial Note: Avoid All-Out Attacks unless you're certain of a kill. An All-Out Attack on a non-critical hit will allow the Happiness Hand to recover and escape.
