Max has unveiled an exciting new trailer for Peacemaker Season 2, significantly enhancing its ties to the Superman narrative by introducing Maxwell Lord, Hawkgirl, and Guy Gardner right from the opening scene.
The trailer opens with Sean Gunn portraying Maxwell Lord, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner / Green Lantern, and Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl conducting a rather dismissive interview with John Cena’s character, Peacemaker, for a potential superhero team. The interview quickly deteriorates, leaving Peacemaker visibly disheartened as he exits the building.
This trailer provides the first glimpse of these supporting characters, who are also slated to appear in James Gunn's upcoming Superman movie.
Achieving peace is a team effort.

Mark your calendars for August 21, as that's when Peacemaker Season 2 will premiere on Max, following the July 11 release of Superman. This positions it as the third installment in the new DCU, which was inaugurated by the Creature Commandos TV series late last year.
James Gunn and co-CEO Peter Safran are steering the DCU away from the critically criticized DC Extended Universe, which included films like Justice League, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Man of Steel. However, certain elements will persist into the new universe. Peacemaker serves as a prime example, transitioning from the old DCEU with Season 1 to the new DCU with Season 2.
James Gunn has stated that "many strands will remain consistent as far as Peacemaker's story goes," although it's still ambiguous which aspects will carry over from the DCEU to the DCU. He has confirmed that all of Team Peacemaker will return with the original cast, with John Cena reprising his lead role, alongside Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase, and Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo.Additionally, Gunn mentioned that the series will be set after the events of both Creature Commandos and Superman, with the events of the latter directly impacting Peacemaker.
