Owlcat Games Expands into Game Publishing, Unveiling New Titles
Owlcat Games, renowned for its acclaimed cRPGs Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous and Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, has announced its foray into game publishing. This strategic move, building on the acquisition of META Publishing in 2021, aims to support and amplify narrative-driven games from other developers.
Owlcat's publishing initiative reflects a commitment to fostering compelling storytelling in the gaming landscape. The studio seeks partnerships with developers who share its passion for immersive narratives, offering them the resources and expertise needed for successful game launches.
New Games on the Horizon
Owlcat has already partnered with two studios:
-
Emotion Spark Studio (Serbia): Developing Rue Valley, a narrative RPG centered around a time loop in a remote town. The game explores themes of mental health and personal growth.
-
Another Angle Games (Poland): Creating Shadow of the Road, an isometric RPG set in an alternate feudal Japan, blending samurai culture, yokai, steampunk technology, and tactical turn-based combat.
Both Rue Valley and Shadow of the Road are in early development, with more details expected soon. These titles exemplify Owlcat's dedication to innovative and engaging storytelling. The publisher plans to provide updates as development progresses, offering players a glimpse into the unique worlds and narratives being crafted.
Owlcat's expansion into publishing represents a significant step, promising to showcase emerging talent and enrich the variety of narrative-driven games available globally.
