Palworld’s massive v0.5.0 update introduces cross-platform play, a game-changer for players across all platforms. This update also significantly enhances Pal management with the Global Palbox, offering ten times the storage capacity of the standard Palbox. Guild members gain access, and personal, private settings are available for individual use.
Beyond Pal storage, this update boasts a character appearance customization system (transmog) that lets you change your look without impacting armor stats, a highly requested photo mode, a blueprint upgrading system via the Drafting Table, and dedicated servers for Mac users. Dedicated servers for PlayStation 5 are also planned for a future release.
Since its January 2024 early access launch, Palworld has amassed an incredible 32 million players. Pocketpair has unveiled an ambitious 2025 content roadmap, including a concluding scenario and additional content for this wildly popular creature-catching survival game. Initially launched on Steam for $30 and simultaneously on Xbox and PC Game Pass, Palworld shattered sales and concurrent player records. The game's success, however, proved overwhelming for Pocketpair, as CEO Takuro Mizobe stated the studio struggled to manage the massive profits generated. Despite this, Pocketpair swiftly capitalized on the game's success by partnering with Sony to establish Palworld Entertainment, aiming to expand the IP and launch on PS5.
Currently, Palworld faces a lawsuit from Nintendo and The Pokémon Company alleging patent infringement. Pocketpair has responded, specifying the patents in question and implementing changes to Pal summoning mechanics. The studio remains resolute in defending its position in court.

- Buildings can now be placed even if they overlap with a Pal.
- When connecting foundations or roofs, the connected pieces will now automatically align in the same direction.
- Assigning an Ice Pal to the Flea Market will slow down item decay in storage and sales.
- Added torches at the entrances of random dungeons for better visibility.
- Players can now sit on chairs and cushions.
- Some weapons that dealt ultra-high damage to trees will no longer drop items upon destruction.

- Adjusted elemental chest rewards. Dog Coins will always drop from these chests and they also have a small chance of containing work suitability books. (Existing chests in current worlds will retain old drop tables; new ones will follow the updated table.)
- Increased EXP gained from defeating the Attack Chopper.
- Increased the DPS of Flamethrowers.
- Adjusted the default attack used by Electric and Dark Pals when all active skills are on cooldown, making them more in line with the other elements.
