Blizzard is once again at the heart of an Overwatch 2 controversy. The recently released Cyber DJ Lucio skin, initially priced at $19.99, was unexpectedly offered for free just a day later. The skin became available to Twitch viewers who watched a one-hour broadcast on February 12th.
This sparked outrage among players who had already purchased the skin. This isn't the first time Blizzard has sold cosmetic items only to later offer them for free through promotions, leading to widespread calls for refunds. While the Cyber DJ skin has been removed from the in-game store, Blizzard has yet to address the refund requests.

The situation is further complicated by the success of Marvel Rivals, which is outperforming Overwatch 2 in various aspects. In response, Blizzard announced a special Overwatch 2 Spotlight event on February 12th to showcase revolutionary gameplay changes. This event will feature reveals of new maps, heroes, and other content, and will include visits from prominent streamers to Blizzard headquarters for a sneak peek at upcoming updates.
